Plywood is made by gluing dried, thin layers
from raw wood. Then odd number of layers is crossed in their
fibrous direction.
Plywoods versatility is enhanced by making full use of
natural woods property and our advanced technology. By
using forestation wood as the main resource, we offer safe and
earth-friendly products. Through the use of domestic lumber
(Japanese cedar and pine), we contribute to the promotion of
foresting and the lumber industry in Japan. |

| To achieve the goal of our Corporate Philosophy,
Protection of Global Environment and Enrichment of Our
Living Environment, Seihoku became the first Japanese
plywood company to take part in forestation projects. The trees
we plant in 1,000 hectares every year absorbs approximately
20,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Which is greater than
the annual carbon dioxide emission by all employees of Seihoku
Group. |

| In July 2001, we established the Seihoku Kankyo
Techno Center, a recycling facility for waste wood materials,
in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture. We regard demolition waste
wood and concrete panel as forest in the city and
convert them into wood chips to re-create new products. We seek
to contribute to the establishment of recycling-oriented
society through the material recycling of waste wood that
we consider to be a new forest resource. |

| Japan is a country of frequent earthquakes. Houses
must be strong enough to protect lives. And people are said
to spend 80% of their time indoors, so indoor air quality is
very important for a healthy life. Therefore, we offer health-oriented
houses that use plywood of highest JAS standard with extremely
low formaldehyde emission. They are pre-cut and made into panels
and trusses in exact dimensions by CAD/CAM systems and delivered
to the construction site as housing components. |
